About this position
The program supervisor is responsible for supervising, training, and evaluating staff in the delivery of services to families, providers, and community members in the organization’s Resource and Referral program.
The successful candidate must be able to communicate effectively, work both independently and collaboratively within a small, close-knit team, and thrive in a fast-paced environment. We are looking for someone with an upbeat, positive attitude who is eager to support the organization’s mission and achieve its strategic goals.
What you’ll be doing
- Assisting the program manager with management of the Resource and Referral staff;
- Representing the organization at county meetings, Resource and Referral Network meetings, and other meetings as directed;
- Providing oversight and ensuring accuracy of program documentation, including child care referrals, provider files, employer-supported files, invoices, state reports, management reports, and timesheets;
- Maintaining knowledge of and following community care licensing regulations, funding terms and conditions, child development program regulations, Title V regulations, applicable state laws, and CalWORKS contract requirements;
- Assisting the program manager with the quarterly publication of the program newsletter;
- Preparing performance evaluations of department staff for submission to the program manager;
- Training department staff on policies, procedures, and use of program computer systems;
- Providing technical assistance to child care providers, parents, and the community;
- Reading and implementing all organization and program policies and procedures;
- Assisting the program manager, program director, and other organization administrators, as needed;
- Accurately completing all assigned paperwork and documentation on a timely basis, according to organization policies and procedures;
- Actively participating in the annual in-service training;
- Abiding by all of Options for Learning’s policies and procedures;
- Performing other related duties as assigned.
What you bring to the table
- Two years of management experience in a child development, social service program setting, or related industry;
- Associate’s degree or higher in social services, business, child development, or related field (preferred);
- Ability to work well with people, with sensitivity to the needs of children and families;
- Five years of experience in Options for Learning voucher programs and subsidy contracts (preferred);
- Ability to correctly and effectively communicate in written and oral English;
- Command of Spanish, Cantonese, Mandarin, or Vietnamese (preferred);
- Passion for the mission and goals of the organization, with a commitment to providing high-quality care and education to children and families in need;
- Experience in Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint, and Teams);
- A California driver's license, daily use of an automobile, and automobile liability insurance (preferred).

Job specifications
- Reports to the resource and referral program manager;
- Exempt, full-time, twelve-month work year;
- Eight-hour workday, four-day workweek;
- Hybrid work schedule with approval by management;
- Limited evening or weekend hours may be required;
- Employment, responsibilities, compensation and other factors may be affected by changes in governmental regulations, the organization’s contracts, or at organization discretion.
