$5,000 HIRING BONUS (Prorated by FTE)

Overview
The Medical Assistant supports psychiatric medical personnel in the provision of quality health care services to patients at our Grants Pass outpatient facility. They assist in the care and treatment of clients with mental illness, co-occurring disorders, and substance abuse problems, if present. The candidate must be comfortable working in a health care clinic that serves a diverse population.
Responsibilities
This position assists health care providers with patient care, taking vital signs, organizing the daily flow of patients, and updating the electronic medical record. They also provide clerical and organizational support, as well as promote the physical and mental health of clients.
Qualifications
The candidate must possess strong organizational skills and the ability to read and understand a medical record; in turn, they must be able to convey this information to patients, pharmacies, and medical providers.
High school diploma or equivalent and a general understanding of the population served
Medical office experience or Medical Assistant (MA) experience is a plus, but not required.
Candidates must be able to use e-mail, compose documents, save and locate documents electronically, and learn to use our Electronic Health Record (EHR) system. Proficiency in Word and other MS Office applications preferred.
Must pass state-required background and DMV checks. Candidate must be able to work independently and flexibly, under general supervision.
