Building Attendant/Custodian

Qualified candidates must possess the following:

• A minimum of a high school diploma or GED;

• Experience maintaining commercial spaces through routine cleaning is preferred;

• Ability to use problem solving skills and attention to detail;

• Ability to follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners by following Safety Data Sheets;

• Ability to focus on quality of work at all times;

• Ability and integrity to work independently;

• Meet the physical demands of the position, with or without a reasonable accommodation, including

regularly standing, walking, reaching, bending at the waist, stooping at the knees, pushing, pulling and

bending. These tasks can entail lifting items of up to 50 lbs.

OTHER JOB-RELATED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must qualify for employment under MN Rules 9543.3070, Applicant Background Study.

• Must not be excluded from participation in Medicare, Medicaid or other federal health care programs

due to fraud.

• Must follow Options’ Drug and Alcohol testing policy.

PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES:

Building Attendant

• Clean designated building areas by completing the following tasks:

o sanitizing, dusting, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, using floor machine, restroom cleaning,

disposing of trash.

• Stock and maintain storage/ janitor closets.

• Maintain work balance; estimate and prioritize schedule.

• Advise the Director of Program and Operations of problems encountered in maintaining building

cleanliness, cleaning equipment and supply materials.
