What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Control Inspector position at OptiPro Systems?
SUMMARY
The Quality Control Inspector ensures that OptiPro’s products meet customer and company requirements. The Quality Control Inspector will administer OptiPro’s quality program under the guidance of the Supply Chain Manager. The Quality Control Inspector will maintain quality standards by approving incoming materials, in-process production, and finished products; recording quality results.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Administers the company’s Quality Assurance Systems.
- Approves incoming materials by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; communicating rejecting and advising appropriate personnel of unacceptable material.
- Purges and quarantines all non-conforming material.
- Reviews and tracks non-conformance corrective actions.
- Trains employees in the use of the Quality Assurance Systems.
- Approves in-process production by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; communicating required adjustments to appropriate supervisors.
- Documents inspection results by completing reports and logs; summarizing re-work and waste; inputting data into quality database.
- Develops and implements department operating procedures and process instructions.
- Keeps measurement equipment operating by following operating instructions.
- Maintains safe and healthy work environment by following all safety standards and procedures.
- Notifies production and Supply Chain immediately on items that do not conform to customer and company QA specifications.
- Maintains cooperative working relationships with all company personnel.
- Works independently taking the initiative to provide solutions to potential QA issues.
- Participates with supply chain in the selection and certification of vendors to assure that they meet quality specifications.
- Performs all other related duties that may be assigned by management.

Education/Experience:
H.S. degree or equivalent; or one to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience in a production-oriented environment.

Measures of Performance/KPI’s:
This position will be evaluated against the following criteria:
- Success in preventing non-conforming product from reaching the production area.
- Ability to process non-conformances in a timely and accurate manner
- Ability to investigate non-conformances to determine if there is a non-conformance and what the non-conformance is.
- Ability to be flexible to support the production area as requested.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Success in implementing OptiPro Quality Program.
- Success in educating OptiPro employees about the Quality Program and encouraging them to utilize it.
- Ability to utilize OptiPro computer software to obtain data.
- Ability to produce quality reports as requested.
