Optomi, in partnership with a market leader in the health sector, is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for a hybrid position out of their office in Addison, TX. This leadership role is integral to driving the success of our software development initiatives, particularly as we embark on a large-scale modernization project. As a Tech Lead, you will be responsible for guiding the team through technical design, development, and delivery of high-quality software solutions in the healthcare space. Experience of the right candidate:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
- 8 years of software development experience with a proven track record in leading development teams.
- Strong expertise in PowerBuilder (even if not recent experience, prior exposure is essential).
- Proficiency in .NET, Java, and cloud technologies (Azure or AWS).
- Familiarity with API design, RESTful architecture, and cloud migrations.
- Demonstrated leadership experience, including technical leadership on projects (not just people management).
- Experience with modernization or migration projects is highly desirable.
- Ability to drive technical design and delivery while collaborating with different development teams (pods).
- Familiarity with healthcare software and applications is a plus, particularly in areas like patient registration, billing, and front-office applications.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Healthcare industry experience is highly desirable, specifically understanding healthcare applications and software.
- Experience with legacy-to-modern tech migrations.
- Exposure to emerging technologies and a strong ability to lead technical transformation efforts.
Responsibilities of the right candidate:
- Lead and mentor a team of developers while ensuring high standards for software design, coding, testing, and deployment.
- Define, design, and deliver technical improvements based on architectural needs, business requirements, and technical debt identification.
- Provide hands-on technical leadership across the software development lifecycle, including coding, architecture, and delivery.
- Lead technical design and delivery of solutions, collaborating with cross-functional teams including infrastructure, DevOps, and other development teams.
- Ensure high-quality, bug-free software through thorough code reviews and rigorous adherence to development standards.
- Act as a solutions architect, driving project delivery while maintaining a focus on technical design and overall solution architecture.
- Manage and lead projects from a technical perspective, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with business goals.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior developers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
- Collaborate with product owners and stakeholders to define project scope, requirements, and timelines.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and industry best practices, incorporating innovative solutions into development processes.
- Oversee quality assurance processes and address performance bottlenecks, optimizing applications for maximum efficiency.

Salary : $125,000 - $140,000
