Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Network Engineer to join our team, specializing in AWS Cloud Architectures and Palo Alto Security NGFWs.
The ideal candidate will have 2-3 years of hands-on experience with AWS cloud environments and at least 5 years of deep expertise working with Palo Alto Security products.
You will play a critical role in managing, troubleshooting, and optimizing our network and security infrastructure across cloud and on-premise environments.
Key Responsibilities
AWS Cloud Infrastructure Management:
- Collaborate with project teams to design, deploy, and maintain network and cloud architectures on AWS.
- Configure and manage core AWS services including EC2, VPC, Load Balancers, Direct Connect, VPN, Gateway Load Balancing, and Transit Gateway.
- Diagnose and resolve network issues within AWS environments.
- Ensure the scalability, performance, and security of AWS network services.
Palo Alto Security NGFW Expertise:
- Manage and configure Palo Alto Next-Generation Firewalls (NGFWs) for advanced threat prevention and network security.
- Design and implement firewall policies, configurations, and troubleshooting strategies.
- Customize and optimize features such as NAT, URL Filtering, Threat Prevention, DNS Security, SSL Decryption, Wildfire, Global Protect, and Prisma Access.
- Lead migration, tuning, and design efforts using Palo Alto technologies.
- Leverage Panorama for centralized management and monitoring of Palo Alto security systems.
Load Balancing & Web Application Firewalls:
- Configure and manage load-balancing methodologies for cloud and on-premise applications.
- Implement and support Web Application Firewalls (WAFs) for enhanced application security.
Monitoring & Troubleshooting:
- Utilize tooling and custom applications to monitor the operational health of networks, applications, databases, and security infrastructures.
- Perform performance tuning and optimization of network resources.
- Lead root cause analysis and post-mortem efforts for security incidents or service interruptions.
- Use Wireshark or other protocol analyzers to troubleshoot network issues.
Collaboration & Architecture Support:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business needs and ensure the proper infrastructure is in place.
- Support architecture review efforts and help design security frameworks for complex environments.
- Assist in technology design and roadmaps to improve the overall network security posture.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience working with AWS Cloud architectures (EC2, VPC, Load Balancers, Direct Connect, VPN, Transit Gateway).
- Minimum 5 years of experience with Palo Alto Security NGFWs, including extensive experience in design, configuration, tuning, and customization.
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in load-balancing methodologies and network management.
Skills & Knowledge:
- Strong hands-on experience with Palo Alto security features, including but not limited to NAT, URL Filtering, Threat Prevention, DNS Security, SSL Decryption, Panorama, Wildfire, and Global Protect.
- Familiarity with configuring and maintaining Web Application Firewalls (WAF).
- Expertise in network troubleshooting tools, including Wireshark or similar protocol analyzers.
- Experience in diagnosing and resolving network and security issues in AWS cloud environments.
- Strong understanding of network security methodologies and best practices to safeguard corporate infrastructure.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with Palo Alto Prisma Access, Wildfire, or similar advanced security solutions.
- Experience with DevOps tooling or automation frameworks for network management.
- Certifications: AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Engineer (PCNSE), or similar certifications are a plus.
