Optomi, in partnership with one of our wholesale clients, is seeking a Field Network Engineer Lead to join their team.
This role is direct hire and will be onsite in Atlanta, GA 2-3x per week.

Position Overview:
Your responsibilities will focus on auditing sites, monitoring system health, and managing infrastructure. By identifying recurring issues and trends, you’ll work with cross-functional teams to develop and implement solutions that enhance site performance and reliability.
This role involves spending approximately 80% of your time in the field to directly support installations, with the goal of continuously improving installation practices and procedures based on hands-on field experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and manage IoT networks and related infrastructure for both new and existing installations.
- Configure, troubleshoot, and optimize network devices for IoT deployments, ensuring seamless device integration and functionality.
- Maintain network connectivity and performance for IoT devices, ensuring smooth operation across installations.
- Monitor and analyze network traffic to identify potential bottlenecks and proactively optimize system performance.
- Implement and enforce security measures and protocols across IoT networks to safeguard data integrity and network security.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define network requirements and ensure alignment with business needs.
- Conduct thorough network testing and performance evaluations to ensure all deployments meet required standards.
- Stay informed about emerging IoT networking technologies and protocols, keeping the team up to date with industry best practices.
Job Requirements:
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a network engineer or in a similar technical role, with a solid understanding of network infrastructure and performance.
- Strong expertise in network protocols, architectures, and security practices, particularly in IoT environments.
- Proficiency in network hardware and software configuration, with hands-on experience in configuring routers, switches, and wireless technologies.
- Familiarity with IoT-specific protocols, including MQTT and CoAP, to ensure efficient and secure communication between devices.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to analyze complex issues and implement effective solutions.
