Position Overview: We're seeking a motivated PHP Developer to join our development team and help us continue scaling our platform. In this role, you'll work on both backend and frontend development tasks, with a focus on PHP, MySQL, and JavaScript. You'll be a key player in enhancing our user-facing platforms and maintaining our core backend systems. Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain web applications using the LAMP stack (Linux, Apache, PHP, MySQL).
- Work with backend and frontend technologies (primarily PHP and JavaScript, including jQuery).
- Integrate and manage third-party APIs such as PayPal, Klarna, and Amazon Pay.
- Collaborate with the Director of Engineering and fellow developers to deliver high-quality features.
- Contribute to improving code quality, debugging, and troubleshooting as part of a fast-moving team.
- Participate in user acceptance testing to ensure features meet requirements and function as expected.
- Develop scalable, reliable solutions that meet the growing needs of the company.
- Help improve system architecture and infrastructure as part of the team’s long-term goals.
Experience:
- Strong proficiency with PHP and experience working with MySQL databases.
- Good knowledge of JavaScript (including jQuery) and experience with ES6.
- Experience with responsive design and front-end frameworks (Bootstrap knowledge is a plus).
- Ability to integrate third-party services and APIs (e.g., PayPal, Klarna, Amazon Pay).
- Experience with Linux, Apache, and the LAMP stack.
- Familiarity with AWS services such as S3, Lambda, and CloudFront.
- Experience with version control (e.g., Git).
- Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
- Ability to work independently, take ownership of projects, and collaborate within a small team.
- Drive and motivation to grow and take on leadership roles within the company.
