Optomi, in partnership with a market leader in the financial sector, is seeking a Senior Python Developer for a hybrid position out of their office in Baltimore, MD. We are seeking an experienced Senior Python Developer to join an established engineering team focused on building resilient and secure software systems that process data. This position is not a short-term contract but a long-term role within a dynamic team committed to high-quality software development. As part of the team, you will work on cloud-based processes, automated overnight processes, and a mix of backend and frontend development, with a primary focus on Python for backend development.

Responsibilities of the right candidate:
- Design, develop, and maintain custom Python libraries tailored to the specific needs of the organization.
- Build and enhance cloud-based software solutions using AWS.
- Develop backend systems for data processing and ensure the software is scalable, resilient, and secure.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including front-end engineers, to implement high-quality user interfaces.
- Work on time-sensitive, automated processes, ensuring they run reliably, particularly in an overnight batch processing environment.
- Contribute to ongoing maintenance and improvements of existing systems.
- Engage with business stakeholders to understand business problems and provide creative technical solutions.
Experience of the right candidate:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Expertise in Python for backend development.
- Experience building cloud-based software solutions, particularly using AWS.
