Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and friendly front desk associate to join our pediatric medical office in providing exceptional patient experiences. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for patients, ensuring a warm welcome and efficient check-in and check-out processes. This role requires strong customer service skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle various tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Duties
- Greet patients upon arrival with a friendly demeanor and provide assistance with check-in and check-out procedures, paperwork, insurance verification, etc.
- Manage appointments, including modifications and cancellations, using electronic medical record software. This does require some judgment skills to address the most urgent patients while weighing the capabilities and schedules of the providers.
- Handle patient inquiries and concerns promptly by directing them to the right department (billing, clinical, etc)
- Ensure the front desk area and lobby are clean, organized, and disinfected at all times
-Collect and record co-pays as needed
- Collaborate with other staff and physicians to ensure seamless patient care
Requirements
- Previous experience in a medical front desk or scheduler role within the medical field is required.
- Excellent phone etiquette and communication skills
-Need to be tech savvy. We use multiple online systems to communicate with patients and schedule appointments.
- Ability to work flexible hours. This job is mostly 8am-5pm, but occasionally patients run late or need last minute appointments and we always do our best to accommodate.
- Familiarity with electronic health record systems and HIPAA laws is a plus.
- A background in pediatrics is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in handling dozens of appointment requests per day through multiple EMR systems.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure while multitasking effectively.
