What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mobile Testing Unit (MTU) Lane Inspector position at OPUS INSPECTION TECHNOLOGIES INC?
POSITION PURPOSE:
This position is responsible for traveling to assigned locations within the I/M Program area to perform vehicle emissions inspections and Remitter transactions from the mobile testing unit while following proper procedures.
Pay Rate: $22.00/hour. Benefits available include medical, dental, vision, disability, life insurance, voluntary benefits, and 401k with a company match.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Daily set up, operation and break down of mobile testing unit
- Maintain performance and appearance of assigned mobile testing unit and associated equipment
- Drive the Mobile Testing Unit to designated testing sites
- Safely and professionally operate vehicles during emissions test
- Enter appropriate vehicle information and verify data integrity
- Maintain contact with MTU Manager
- Assist customers to and from waiting area
- Maintain informative and polite communication with customers
- Prioritize safety by following proper safety procedures
- Ensure the accuracy of test information before providing results to customers
- Process remitter transactions
- Notify MTU Manager regarding any safety or security concerns
- Immediately report any concerns regarding testing equipment or emissions results
- Immediately report any instance of solicitation or fraudulent testing
- Performs other duties as assigned by MTU Manager
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
- Good communication skills both verbal and written
- Computer keyboarding skills
- Able to stoop, bend, and reach
- Able to enter and exit customer vehicles
- Able to work in extreme weather conditions
EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE:
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record
- High School diploma or equivalent
