We are currently searching for a Maintenance Technician Lead for our Whitestown, IN location. As a Maintenance Technician you can expect to repair and maintain all physical aspects of our machines in coherence with promoting the corporate vision, mission statement, and core values.

What you need to be successful at Opus Packaging:
- Previous maintenance experience within the corrugated industry.
- A wide technical knowledge including electrical, PLC, mechanical, welding, and general construction practices.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and procedural documents.
- Pass a pre-employment physical and drug screen.
- Work safely and attend all safety training.
- Be constantly aware of your surroundings.
It would be great if you also have:
- Associate degree or Technical Certificate in a directly related field.
- Minimum of three years of leadership experience within the corrugated industry.
- Familiarity reading blueprints and parts breakdowns.
- Welding and blow torch knowledge, along with a large variety of hand tools.
- Basic math skills including fractions, decimals, and percentages.
- Ability to properly use and understand the required measurement equipment including tape measures, micrometers, and other tools as required.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
During a normal workday you can expect to:
- Oversee outside contractors performing installations and projects at the facility
- Interface with others in the organization to ensure customer deadlines are met.
- Investigate problems to ensure efficient facility operation and determine root cause to prevent reoccurrence.
- Develop, recommend, and implement measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
- Assist in building and maintaining an effective maintenance team.
- Respond to floor calls-write work orders for further work required.
- Perform PM’s on a timely basis.
- Repair machines-complete work orders.
- Read and understand Hydraulic and Pneumatic Schematics.
- Communicate between shifts and with operators.
- Be able to start up all machines, production and support machines.
- Clean up after jobs are complete.
- Stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, and talk and hear.
- Regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Use of hand tools move levers and press pedals to drive and control lifting apparatus on forklift, clamp truck, or any other maintenance equipment.
