We are currently searching for 2nd shift Machine Operators for our Caledonia, MI location. 1st shift runs 6am to 2pm Monday through Friday and 2nd shift runs 2pm to 12am Monday through Thursday. If you have experience or the desire to learn, we want to talk to you! We offer a competitive hourly shift premium, in addition to competitive hourly wage. Salary is based on specific industry and machine knowledge and experience.
As a Machine Operator for Opus Packaging you can expect to produce corrugated or chip packaging products for our customers in coherence with promoting the corporate vision, mission statement, and core values.

Duties and Responsibilities :
- Responsible for all activities associated with running the machines.
- Monitor box quality to the documented ISO standards.
- Maximize the utilization of equipment by running the machinery at available speed.
- Train and assist Feeder and Stacker with their job duties.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including safety and housekeeping.
- Perform general preventive maintenance duties per machine schedule.
- Set up machines (calibration, cleaning etc.) to start a production cycle.
- Control and adjust machine settings (e.g. speed.)
- Feed raw material or parts to semi-automated machines.
- Inspect parts with precision and measuring tools.
- Test operation of machines periodically.
- Fix issues that might occur during the shift.
- Check output to spot any machine-related mistakes or flaws.
- Keep records of approved and defective units or final products.
- Maintain activity logs.
