Location: Santa Clara, CA 05054
Duration: 06 Months contract with contract extension or hire
Payrate: $55 - $65/hr
Shift: Mon-Fri 7:00am-4:00pm (flexible to occasional nights/weekends as needed)
Job Description:
The Project Manager is responsible for leading all aspects of a large scale multiyear construction project. The position is onsite and has ultimate accountability for the successful delivery of the project, where success is defined as on schedule, on budget, within the approved scope, and with a high degree of quality.
Primary Roles & Responsibilities:
Execute Black Box PMO standards, processes, and methodologies in a consistent manner for project planning and execution activities including the following fundamentals: initiating, planning, estimating, resourcing, scheduling, and budgeting.
Prepare project plan and work breakdown structure in partnership with participating organizations and negotiates agreement with the customer, including identification of work and organizational breakdown structures, requirements creation and management, cost and material estimates, milestone payment schedule, and risk and communication management plans.
Coordinate the setup of overall project governance (e.g. project org charts; roles & responsibilities, RACI charts, communication / stakeholder management) required for each assigned project.
Manage the execution of project:
Acts as primary customer contact for project. Clearly articulates design, installation, and operational concepts and solutions to customers and technicians.
Conducts recurring customer reviews addressing scope, schedules, issues, actions, risks and customer expectations.
Prepares for and present at appropriate project steering committee meetings
Works with Procurement to ensure material is delivered on time.
Manages installation.
Transitions project to Day 2 support team after project completion.
Manage project control fundamentals: monitoring and anticipating potential problems; identifying project conflicts; taking corrective action; resolving issues; managing scope, schedule, cost, profit and budget; project reporting; and quality review and assurance.
Issue and communicate program status to leadership, steering committee, and other stakeholders as appropriate.
Manage revenue forecasting and tracking for assigned projects.
Will be responsible to lead and manage matrixed project team
Onsite role (not remote)
Education Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent relevant experience in project management, engineering, IT, or business is required
Project Management Professional (PMP) PRINCE2® 2017 Practitioner preferred
Registered Communications Distribution Designer, RCDD – BICSI preferred
Experience Requirements:
5 years of experience leading large scale multi-year construction projects
Experience with manufacturing, office and data center construction projects
Experience managing projects with a minimum of 25 personnel and yearly revenue in excess of $3 million
Other Qualifications, Skills & Certifications:
Procore experience preferred
BIM experience preferred
A solid understanding of project fundamentals, such as project financial management, client and subcontractor invoicing, status reporting, work plan management, scope management, issue & risk management, and communication management is essential.
