About the Role
The Senior Manager of Manufacturing Engineering is responsible for designing, reviewing, and optimizing manufacturing and assembly processes for new and revised product designs. This position requires the ability to develop innovative processes to meet product and manufacturing specifications, manage industrialization projects with external manufacturers, and ensure alignment with overall business strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead a team of Manufacturing Engineers, Technicians, Engineering Drafters, and CNC programmers.
- Collaborate with operations managers and plant leadership to set and assess priorities across teams.
- Analyze and recommend process improvements to reduce costs and enhance efficiency.
- Develop tooling strategies, designs, and manufacturing methods to minimize variable tooling costs and enhance product quality.
- Develop and implement CAPEX project planning and submissions.
- Provide guidance and oversight in development and execution of plant renovations and expansions, coordinate outside contractors and vendors.
- Responsible for creating and maintaining machine programming data and files.
- Support the Maintenance team in TPM programs to achieve World Class machine availability.
- Participate and support plant lean continuous improvement activities to drive operational enhancements.
- Promote plant layout improvements to optimize material flow and floor space utilization.
- Facilitate cross-functional teams to provide process and manufacturability input to designs throughout the product development lifecycle.
- Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations, including EPA and OSHA standards.
- Critical in supporting plant-level make/buy analysis.
- Process time studies and plant capacity planning responsibilities.
- Budget preparation and implementation for the department.
