What are the responsibilities and job description for the Respite and Community Habilitation Worker position at OPWDD Self-Direction?
Family is in the OPWDD Self-Direction program and staff will be hired through AIM Services. All OPWDD eligibility requirements apply.
Looking for Respite and Community Habilitation staff for 2 fun, active, friendly boys with Autism and ADHD in Amsterdam, NY. The boys are ages 8 and 15, and they live with their Mom. They are super sweet and Mom is wonderful to work with but super busy and needs good, reliable, supportive staff to help.
There is the potential to hire more than one person, as the person hired will not be working with both boys at the same time. The largest needs for help are weekday afternoons/evenings (presently) potentially before school as well. Occasional help on weekends would be a bonus.
The boys are hoping to find someone who is also fun and active and wants to participate in lots of different activities with them. For Mom it is most important that they hire someone with experience working with children with Autism and ADHD, and know how to support these needs and help her children learn and grow.
The 8-year-old is looking for Respite staff and the 15-year-old is looking for Community Habilitation, pay rates are different for positions and boys based on their Self-Direction budgets and will be determined based on qualifications and experience.
Please have experience working with children with special needs, a valid drivers license, and a reliable vehicle.

Pay: From $20.00 per hour
Schedule:
- Evening shift
- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed
