Overview

The Quality Manager for OQ Chemicals US leads and maintains full oversight of the Quality Management program, driving customer satisfaction and ensuring excellence across all quality functions. Acting as the central partner for addressing quality-related customer issues and requests, the Quality Manager ensures that products, services, and quality procedures drive sustainable growth and satisfaction. Leveraging expertise in quality, relationship-building, and data-driven decision making, this key leader fosters collaboration, drives continuous improvement, and adapts strategies to meet evolving customer demands.

The successful candidate will champion a customer-focused culture by understanding customer needs, shaping specifications and quality agreements for products and processes, and implementing effective quality control processes. They will lead the Integrated Management System (IMS), ensuring alignment with industry standards, internal policies, and key certifications like ISO 9001, ISO 14001, Halal & Kosher, and ISCC PLUS. Additionally, they will manage the quality audit program, addressing nonconformities, driving corrective actions, and verifying compliance to uphold the highest standards of quality and performance.

The position will perform in accordance with OQ Chemicals’ Mission, Vision, Values & Strategies, as well as, policies, guidelines and international standards, supported by an IT Technology platform, and HSE standards.

Main Tasks And Responsibilities

  • Ensure components of a comprehensive Quality Management Process, system and strategies are in place.
  • Provide leadership and coaching tools, methods and strategies in the area of quality.
  • Oversee the Integrated Management System (IMS), audits, and certifications (ISO, ISCC PLUS, Halal, Kosher).
  • Ensure processes meet all internal, legal, and certification standards.
  • Managing internal auditor trainings and internal audit program.
  • Track customer complaints, driving the root cause and corrective action process.
  • Coordinate responses to customer questionnaires and support compliance with regulatory changes.
  • Develop and maintain quality specifications for products, raw materials, and support of packaging quality materials.
  • Support new product development and process manufacturing changes.
  • Manage SAP QM for materials, quality notifications, and Certificates of Analysis (CoA).
  • Quality evaluation and qualification of new terminals/transloading facilities.
  • Evaluate prior cargo contents for approvals.


Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or other related technical field


Background And Experience

  • At least 10 years progressive quality management experience. Similar progression would be 10 years related or combined manufacturing and business experience.
  • Experience must include hands-on responsibility for the full scope of quality management activities.
  • Experience in implementing and leading quality management processes, ideally in industries requiring strict compliance such as food, cosmetics, automotive, or other similar regulated sectors.
  • Excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Project management administration; effective interface with diverse groups; effective supervisory skills.
  • Ideally, an understanding of petrochemical manufacturing products and chemistry.
