Position Responsibilities:
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Certified Surgical First Assistant to join our dynamic team! In this role, you will participate and provide essential intraoperative assistance to surgeons, while maintaining a sterile field and ensuring optimal patient care. You will participate in the room setup, pre-procedure preparations, intra-operative positioning, prepping and draping, and room turnover. Additional responsibilities include participating in on-call duties as scheduled and working closely with providers and clinical staff in the clinic. ORA holds all our staff members accountable for providing high-level care, maintaining patient confidentiality, and complying with all HIPAA rules and regulations.
Requirements:
This position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, as well as the successful completion of an accredited surgical first assisting program. Current surgical first assist certification is required, along with the ability to stand, walk, sit, squat, and pull, push, and lift over 50 pounds. One year of prior orthopedic surgical first-assist experience is preferred. A successful candidate will display excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills as well as the ability to effectively communicate and interact with patients and their families. This position requires travel to both of ORA's ASC locations and Quad City area hospitals in both Iowa and Illinois.
