Nurse Practitioner
Oracle Heart & Vascular is looking for a Board-Certified Nurse Practitioner. Experience or training in critical care is a plus. The successful candidate will have responsibilities over both inpatient and outpatient clinical assessment, plan of care, and treatment of patients. He/she will possess a strong focus on clinical excellence and patient experience and will function collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
Our physicians are readily available to our Advanced Practice Providers, while also offering the opportunity to utilize his/her own critical analysis, evidence-based decision making, and judgment in order to deliver advanced care.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Utilize clinical skill and judgment to appropriately assess patient needs, deliver advanced quality care and achieve optimal patient outcomes
- Provide pre and post procedural and cardiac testing education for patients
- Obtain patient history, perform appropriate exams, place orders, evaluate diagnostic, radiographic, and lab values to assess patient’s needs
- Initiate, monitor, and adjust medications in accordance with practice protocol
- Collect and monitor patient outcomes on an ongoing basis and develop an appropriate plan of care for each patient
- Assure patient’s need for immediate and/or emergent care is handled promptly and appropriately
- Provide quick turnaround of clinical feedback and work collaboratively with referring physicians and the health system
- Provide the highest quality patient-centered care for inpatient/ER consults and progress notes
- Keeps a keen eye for relationship building opportunities
- Assist with one weekend call-coverage a month
- Maintain hospital list and send in billing and scheduling sheets at the end of the day
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner Program at the master’s or doctorate level
- Currently credentialed by the American Nurses Credentialing Center for Nurse Practitioners
- Eligible for prescriptive authority application through the Board of Nursing
- Current/Eligible Virginia state certification as a Nurse Practitioner
- Maintain certifications in BLS and ACLS for Healthcare Providers
- Self motivated, independent, and possess excellent organizational skills
- Strong critical thinking and competency to manage complex cardiovascular diseases
- Demonstrates exceptional serviced minded and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrates excellent communication, leadership, and serviced minded competencies
- Basic computer skills and EHR experience required
- Previous professional experience in acute care, trauma, cardiovascular and other co-morbid conditions preferred
- Confident and motivated self-starter and decision maker
PRACTICE HISTORY AND INFORMATION:
Our dynamic team of specialists have been serving the Fredericksburg and surrounding area since 2010. Currently, we are a 12-provider practice which includes three Interventional
Cardiologist, three Non-Invasive Cardiologists, five Nurse Practitioners, one Physician Assistant, and an Electrophysiologist to join in 2024. We have affiliations with one health system encompassing two hospitals. In maintaining attentiveness to the unique needs of our patients, we provide the full spectrum of invasive and non-invasive cardiovascular services.
Situated amidst the bedroom communities of the DC metro area, the population continues to grow exponentially resulting in new opportunities to expand our cardiovascular services in our offices as well as in the hospital. With the opening of a state-of-the-art hybrid interventional lab, the hospital has emerged into the forefront of structural interventions and advanced technology for heart failure patient monitoring. New construction allowed for the expansion of a second electrophysiology lab to perform high risk EP procedures including Watchman, atrial appendage closure, and lead extractions.
Oracle Heart & Vascular’s structure progressed rapidly prior to and amidst the rampant fluctuation in the healthcare industry in 2020. Understandably, one of our core principles remain to explore innovative methods to deliver care as well as an openness to new technologies and management paradigms. In a local marketplace where cardiovascular practices remain independently owned and operated, our practice continues to be one of the fastest growing within a 50-mile radius.
