What are the responsibilities and job description for the Block Storage Service SRE/DevOps Senior Manager position at Oracle?
This is a Software Engineering Manager position within the Block Storage Service Team of Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) and will focus heavily on leading/building our SRE/DevOps team. Block storage service is a distributed scalable service that grows with the needs of customer workloads. Block SRE team develops automation, tooling and processes that are critical to Block Storage service delivery. Block Storage operates at cloud scale across multiple regions spread across the globe. You will lead a team of SREs who pride themselves on automation, reduction of developer toil and deep experience in operating a highly available, durable, secure and compliant storage service. Will continue to grow our automation process (Python).
Hybrid position. One must be in our Santa Clara office no less than 3 days a week. Full time with full Oracle benefits.

US: Hiring Range in USD from: $107,100 to $251,600 per annum. May be eligible for bonus, equity, and compensation deferral.

Responsibilities:

- You will lead and mentor Block SRE engineers to provide best in class operational tooling as well as operation execution for Block Storage.
- You will hire and grow the SRE teams to meet the ever-growing needs of OCI and Block Storage.
- You will provide vision and direction to the Block SRE team and prioritize high impact projects.
- You will own and drive critical operations for Block including security scanning, compliance, patching, and software deployments across all regions.
- You will lead the development of operational tooling for automated build out of new regions and management of storage capacity.
Skills Desired
- BS in Computer Science or related fields or equivalent experience in systems management.
- 4 years of experience managing SRE teams and operating a 24x7 service.
- Experience developing roadmaps and prioritizing and executing projects.
- Experience operating infrastructure or platform as a service and managing security and compliance activities.
- Knowledge of systems, in particular Linux and networking.
- Strong plus: Knowledge of storage systems; block, object and file storage.
- Manage a team that designs, develops, troubleshoots and debugs software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.
