Job Description
The Oracle Government Cloud Adoption Engineer position, a member of the Cloud Solution Engineering job family, is a highly visible and influential individual contributor role that works directly with our largest customers to support their most challenging projects. All of our Government, Defense & Intelligence (GDI) customers have important Cloud initiatives, and this role combines hands-on technical expertise and experience working with senior leaders to help support their missions, and successfully deliver core enterprise services such as Identity Management, Networking, and Security Monitoring.
In this role you will help customers assess their own technical environments and apply cloud, database, application, middleware, server/OS, storage, networking, and security skills to guide their deployments in the Oracle Cloud. In addition to technical delivery, you will be a senior customer advocate, able to help them establish superior cloud onboarding procedures, shape important internal policies, and use your experience to help them build fully-accredited solutions that best achieve their mission objectives. Additionally this role will help with Customer Support Escalations and RFPs, RFIs
Preferred Requirements:
12 Years of Technology Experience
5 years of Oracle Cloud, Database & Options & Middleware Experience
Preferred Experience and Knowledge: Oracle Database & Options, Oracle Weblogic, Java, Oracle E-Business Suite, Oracle Identity & Access Management.
Experience and Knowledge of security guidelines and compliance frameworks: DoD DISA Cloud Computing Security Guide(CCSRG), DoD DISA Secure Cloud Computing Architecture(SCCA), FEDRAMP, DoD IL2/4/5/6, DoD Security Technology Implementation Guidelines(STIG), PKI/CAC, FIPS, NIAP Common Criteria, IPv6, NIST, PCI, HIPAA, etc.
Networking & Security experience: networks, subnets, route tables, gateways, DNS services, load balancers, firewalls, auditing, logging, etc.
3 years cloud migration or cloud security architecture experience with Oracle, AWS, Azure, or GCP
Scripting/development experience in: Python, Node.js, Java, Bash, etc.
Infrastructure as Code experience: Terraform, Kubernetes CloudFormation, Oracle Resource Manager, Azure Resource Manager
Knowledge of JSON, YAML, SQL
Bachelor of Science-level university degree in Computer Science, Math, Engineering from accredited university; and/or relevant 12 years technical experience. Advanced degree in relevant field of studies highly desirable.

Partners with customers, sales, engineering and product teams to design, present, demonstrate and deploy Oracle Database, Middleware, and Cloud architectures that address customer business problems. Drives Oracle customer consumption by accelerating the adoption of Oracle technology and cloud including discovery, design and deployment.
Responsible for engaging with strategic and more complex customers, builds leadership relationships at multiple levels within organizations in order to design and implement solutions. Works directly with customers to gather requirements, develop architectures and translates business needs into solutions. May implement solutions and ensure successful deployments through code development and scripting. Displays product/application understanding through highly customized presentation demonstrations to customers and at conferences and events. Presents and demonstrates technical solutions to customers. Supports customer from Proof of Concept (POC) through production deployment of services via resource configuration, planning, and customer education/training. Creates and distributes technical assets (white papers, solution code, blog posts, and video demonstrations). Project management. Provides leadership and expertise in the development of new solutions, products, and processes. Maintains expertise by staying current on emerging technologies. Acts as an acknowledged authority for customers and sales on technical cloud solutions and customer success. Viewed by peers as a leader and top contributor and by line management as a key business partner. Identifies gaps and enhancements to influence engineering roadmaps for customer driven features. Maintains expertise by staying current on emerging technologies. Writes technical approaches for RFPs, RFIs, Market Surveys. Solving technical problems with customers in technical environments;
