These events target Oracle customers, partners, users, and leaders with vision at all levels. The organization’s main objective is to produce next-level event experiences that drive awareness of Oracle’s brand and deliver measurable business impact.

Oracle’s Global Events organization is creating a Project Management Office (PMO) to support the delivery of its business goals through integrated, strategic project portfolio management. Global Events’ PMO will develop, maintain, and enforce practices, policies, and standards for structuring and executing projects within the organization. Its purpose will be to drive discipline, communication, and orchestration, ensuring that the programs are delivered efficiently and effectively. PMO staff will provide process expertise, administrative support, and knowledge of management coordination. They will also facilitate clear communication channels between stakeholders and executive producers in charge of specific event programs through rigorous governance, regular status updates, and meetings designed for maximum impact.

About the Role

Reporting to the Director, Business Operations, Global Events, the PMO Director is a high-visibility role responsible for supporting the entire life cycle of some of Oracle’s largest and most business-critical corporate events. The emphasis for this role is on driving process excellence, not event design, scoping or delivery, which are the responsibility of lead executive event producers this role partners closely with.

In this role, you will be supporting event executive producers and other senior leaders move complex event programs forward through stellar communication, facilitation, and problem-solving.  At the center of a vast network of stakeholders within and beyond the Global Events organization, you will be driving all parties to a common goal, speaking the languages of event production, product marketing, marketing communications, and external vendors as the situation warrants. 

You will be the closest partner to event executive producers and marketing leadership, across corporate and global field organizations. Your sense of ownership of planning and storytelling instruments such as project plans and walking decks, your eye for detail, and your ability to hold stakeholders at all levels of seniority accountable will play a central role in the success of all parties involved.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in project management, event management, or a related field.
  • PMP, PRINCE2, or other relevant project management certifications are preferred.
  • 10 years of experience in project management, preferably within event planning, corporate events, or large-scale global events.
  • Strong understanding of project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, etc.).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multicultural, global environment.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and deliver them on time.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on process optimization and continuous improvement.
  • Experience with project management apps (e.g., MS Project, Jira, Asana, Trello, Wrike). Oracle Marketing currently utilizes Wrike as primary project management solution.
  • Travel required: less than 10% of time. The role does not require travelling to all events supported.
  • Must reside within commutable distance to office in Nashville, TN, or Kansas City, MO.

US: Hiring Range in USD from: $109,200 to $223,400 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.

Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle’s differing products, industries and lines of business.
Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

8. Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. For employees working at least 35 hours per week, the vacation accrual rate is 13 days annually for the first three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years of employment. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.

Responsibilities:

The PMO Director is responsible for supporting the complete event life cycle to ensure planned milestones are met as per project plan, dependencies are identified early-on, planning meetings and executive briefings are run efficiently and effectively, and planning documents are always up-to-date and accessible to relevant stakeholders.  You will partner with event executive producers to develop timelines and ensure progress to plan, as well as track critical project achievements.  You will act as control tower and orchestrator in a complex, cross-group, international, high-pressure environment.  You will evangelize the PMO culture and bring a high degree of energy to the role.

PMO Leadership: Establishes and manages the Project Management Office for the Global Events Team, ensuring effective governance, resource allocation, and process adherence.

Project Planning: In collaboration with event executive producers, defines and maintains project plans, timelines, key documents for international corporate events. Facilitates end-to-end scoping, optimizes processes on an ongoing basis, and manages cross-team dependencies.

Risk & Issue Management: Identifies potential project risks and issues, develops mitigation strategies, and ensures proactive management across all stakeholders.

Stakeholder Management: Collaborates with global stakeholders, including senior leadership, executive producers, and cross-functional teams, to align deliverables and timelines. 

ROB Ownership: Owns the rhythm of the business for international corporate events, organizing, chairing and documenting critical recurring meetings.

Process Improvement: Continuously reviews and improves project management methodologies, tools, and best practices to drive efficiency and effectiveness in event execution.

Reporting & Documentation: Ensures accurate and timely reporting on project status, risks, budgets, and resource utilization. Maintains clear and up-to-date project documentation.

Team Coordination: Supports lead executive producers in overseeing the work of multiple stakeholders across various geographies, ensuring consistent execution and alignment with organizational goals.

Post-Event Analysis: Supports lead executive producers during post-event reviews, gathering feedback and lessons learned to optimize future event planning and execution.
