Job DescriptionCore Database Recovery and High Availability, Database Systems TechnologiesOur team builds high availability infrastructure for the Oracle database. We are looking for bright people who like to challenge themselves by attacking complex problems in systems programming, high availability, and ultra-scalability.Scaling for us means running well on very large multiprocessors, on large numbers of computers in a cluster, as well as on very large databases. Self-managing means making our software self-tuning and intelligent such that all the complexity and sophistication is hidden from the end user. Resilience to failure means having the system stay up and functional even when there are hardware failures, software failures, and human error.Our team owns the critical layer of database redo logging and recovery to ensure data durability. Our team builds software to maximize database throughput by taking advantage of new hardware technologies. Our team builds engine of Oracle's flagship High Availability feature Oracle Data Guard. Our team builds engine of Oracle’s True Cache technology. Our team builds software to make system available in sub-seconds after failover.Our team consists of members from 5 different countries in North America and Europe. More than two-thirds of the team members are database veterans that have worked on database kernel development for 10 years.Our projects are driven by customer needs and by innovative ideas that percolate from the bottom-up as well as top-down. We are looking for self-motivated individuals, who can solve complex problems under limited supervision. The following skills are valued : Career Level - IC5Responsibilities

• Familiar with relational database and operating system concepts
• Proficient in C; SQL proficiency is a plus
