Oracle Government, Defense, and Intelligence is seeking a Senior Cloud Architect to join our team, focusing on supporting the sales efforts for the US Federal Government market. This role is ideal for a cloud expert who is passionate about driving cloud adoption and enabling customers to succeed in their cloud journey. As a Cloud Architect, you will be a trusted advisor to our strategic federal government clients, providing technical guidance and ensuring their success on the Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).
This is a remote position with a preference for a candidate based in the Washington DC area.

US: Hiring Range in USD from: $113,100 to $185,100 per annum. May be eligible for equity. Eligible for commission with an estimated pay mix of 70/30.
Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle’s differing products, industries and lines of business.
Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

- Engage with federal government customers to understand their current technical environment, business objectives, and challenges.
- Conduct in-depth analysis of the customer's Oracle ecosystem, including packaged applications (EBS, PeopleSoft, Siebel, JD Edwards, Hyperion, Essbase), Oracle Databases, Middleware, and VMware Estate.
- Assess business and technical requirements such as performance, latency, availability, and scalability to propose optimal cloud solutions.
- Lead architecture design sessions, presenting OCI services, and proposing future-proof solutions.
- Design and implement the OCI Modern Data Platform, Generative AI, and Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) for application development, integrations, and extensions.
- Create comprehensive customer-facing documentation, including future state architecture designs, alternatives, and bills of materials to support the sales team's proposals.
- Guide customers through the process of migrating their Oracle ecosystem and VMware estate to OCI, offering architecture coaching and technical expertise.
- Mentor and coach customers as they navigate their cloud adoption journey, ensuring a smooth transition to OCI and Multi Cloud Architecture.
- Monitor and forecast customer's OCI adoption and provide insights on cloud subscription consumption.
- Regularly communicate with customer leadership, providing progress reports, recommendations, and updates.

Requirements:
- Extensive experience (5 years) in Cloud Engineering, Architecture, or Delivery, with a strong focus on Cloud Data Platforms and large-scale migrations of applications and databases to the cloud.
- Profound knowledge of cloud infrastructure, including compute, storage, network, database, VMs, and security, preferably with Oracle bare metal experience.
- Expertise in migration, re-platforming, and rehosting of databases and applications from on-premises to cloud environments.
- Hands-on experience with at least one major cloud provider: OCI, AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Ability to engage with C-level executives and VP/Director-level management, strategically positioning Oracle solutions to meet customer business needs.
- Strong coaching and advisory skills in architectural design, development, and deployment.
- Proficiency in designing and implementing large-scale applications on AWS, GCP, Azure, or Oracle Cloud (OCI).
- Understanding of shared-service models and long-term enterprise strategy for applications, architecture, upgrades, and enhancements.
- Excellent collaboration skills to work with Oracle Sales teams and Enterprise Architects to drive OCI IaaS and PaaS solutions.
- Experience in conducting architectural discussions and implementing Proof-of-Concepts using the Oracle Cloud Data Platform.
- Background in working with government or related industries (Energy, Utilities, Manufacturing, Transportation, Financial Services, High Technology) is preferred.
- Proficiency in security concepts such as data encryption, identity management, and access control.
- Knowledge of federal cloud compliance standards and regulations, including FedRAMP, CJIS, and other relevant frameworks, to ensure cloud solutions meet the stringent security and governance requirements of the US Federal Government.
- Strong communication skills to convey technical information, expectations, and risks effectively.
- Ability to contribute to project timelines, estimates, and solution documentation.
- Cloud certifications in AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, or OCI are highly desirable.
