JOB SUMMARY
The Manufacturing Shift Supervisors are responsible for all employees working in the Films Production area on an assigned shift, the quality of goods produced, and the development of the production schedule, and the attainment of production schedules. The Manufacturing Shift Supervisors will work to continuously improve the operations of the Films Department.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Safe operation of all ORAFOL manufacturing equipment.
May be required to operate and inspect Powered Industrial equipment.
Supervise production operations in accordance with plant policies and procedures.
Responsible for shift schedule to include; schedule attainment, work station assignments/rotations, employee training, employee vacations, employee breaks, overtime assignment, back up for absent employees and shift rotations, adjustments to schedule to achieve efficiency and throughput.
Support the Conversion Supervisor with monitoring the Conversion Production Floor when they are unavailable/off site.
Make adjustments as necessary during shift to produce product within specifications.
Complete Deviation forms and work with Engineering to document any product that does not have proper documentation or that is running outside of established conditions.
Communicate with quality issues/concerns with the Manufacturing Manager, Quality Manager, and Engineers.
Drive and support lean improvements that enhance the efficiency, yields, quality, on-time delivery, and profitability of the manufacturing organization.
Ensure a clean and safe work area.
Train, coach, develop, and grow production employees.
Conduct scheduled employee reviews, provide feedback to employees on a regular basis, develop Performance Improvement Plans to help employees succeed.
Coordinate with Manufacturing Manager for appropriate staffing levels.
Schedule and conduct shift meetings/production meetings.
Adherence to standard operation procedures and Health and Safety Regulations.
Ensure visual, electronic, written, and verbal communication for shift meets requirements.
Complete shift paperwork and review production systems to be sure operator level documentation is being properly completed.
Review, approve, or disapprove purchase orders for people in your line of command.
Assist in production by operating/supporting plant equipment in the absence of operators, as necessary.
Perform other duties as assigned or as the situation dictates
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Follow prescribed safety guidelines in accordance to ORAFOL Americas Safety program; use required PPE
Maintains an optimal level of product quality and adheres to ORAFOLs Quality Program
Qualifications
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Education Requirements:
High School Diploma College Degree Preferred.
Work Experience:
Three to five years leadership experience.
Knowledge of manufacturing processes, procedures and mechanics; This is normally acquired through 2 - 5 years of manufacturing experience.
Manual dexterity required for operation machinery and computer.
