Job Title:
The Sterilization Technician plays a vital role in ensuring the safety and cleanliness of medical instruments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collects and sorts used and contaminated equipment, instruments, and supplies for decontamination.
- Manually cleans supplies to remove contaminants.
- Operates and maintains decontamination equipment to ensure proper functioning.
- Prepares and packages decontaminated supplies for sterilization.
- Conducts meticulous examinations to ensure supplies are properly cleaned and sanitized.
- Tests and reports any issues or problems with sterilization equipment on a routine basis.
- Sterilizes, prepares, wraps, and organizes equipment into instrument trays for use during medical procedures.
- Prepares and delivers necessary equipment and instruments for procedures.
- Maintains accurate records of sterilization procedures, sterilized items, equipment maintenance, and supplies.
- Monitors inventory and supplies to prevent shortages.
- Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
Education and Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent is required.
- One year of relevant experience is preferred.
- Certification in Sterile Processing and Distribution is highly valued but not mandatory.
Skills and Abilities:
