The Sterilization Technician is responsible for processing and sterilizing all instruments used daily in the medical field. - Collects used and contaminated equipment, instruments, and supplies for sorting and decontamination to maintain cleanliness and prevent infection.
- Manually removes contaminants from supplies ensuring they are thoroughly cleaned before further use.
- Operates and maintains decontamination equipment to ensure proper functioning and efficiency.
- Prepares and packages supplies after decontamination, organizing them according to their intended use.
- Examines supplies carefully to verify thorough cleaning and sanitizing.
- Routinely tests and reports any issues or malfunctions with sterilization equipment to prevent downtime.
- Sterilizes, prepares, wraps, and organizes equipment into instrument trays ready for use during medical procedures.
- Preps and delivers necessary equipment and instruments for medical procedures on time.
- Maintains detailed records of sterilization procedures, sterilized items, equipment maintenance, and supplies.
- Keeps track of inventory levels and orders supplies when needed.

Education and Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
