Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Surgical Assistant to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting surgical procedures, ensuring patient safety, and maintaining a sterile environment. This position requires a strong understanding of surgical protocols, sterilization, and excellent interpersonal skills to assist both the surgical team and patients effectively.
Duties
- Prepare the operating room by ensuring all necessary instruments and equipment are sterile and ready for use.
- Assist the surgeon during procedures by providing instruments, suctioning, and maintaining visibility of the surgical site.
- Monitor patient vital signs and maintain accurate medical documentation throughout the surgical process.
- Collaborate with dental professionals in various specialties, including Orthodontics, Prosthodontics and Endodontics, to provide comprehensive patient care.
- Uphold infection control standards and adhere to HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality and safety.
- Perform X-Ray procedures as needed, ensuring proper technique and patient comfort.
- Provide support in administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and managing patient records using WinOMS / Carestream software.
Experience
Candidates should possess a solid foundation in anatomy knowledge along with experience in a clinical setting. Familiarity with medical documentation practices is essential. Experience in roles such as dental receptionist or dental assistant or prior exposure to surgical environments (sterilization tech or hospital OR) will be advantageous. A commitment to ongoing education in infection control practices is also preferred.

Pay: $16.00 - $28.00 per hour
Expected hours: 26 – 46 per week
