General Summary:
The Branch Manager is responsible for maintaining and increasing the sales volume and managing the total operations of a bank branch office. This includes Staffing, all aspects of managing the branch’s workforce (such as hiring, firing, disciplining, evaluating, directing the work, etc.) budgeting and cost control, security, compliance, consumer and commercial lending, customer service, internal and external business development, and ensuring building maintenance by directing work to appropriate individuals. In addition, the Branch Manager is responsible for providing leadership over the branch, networking with the community, and new business acquisition and retention. Customer and employee satisfaction are key to the Branch Manager’s achieving branch goals. An integral role of the Branch Manager function will be to identify business prospects and perform in-person business calls. The Branch Manager must identify both customers and prospects to determine if they are retention, expansion or acquisition customers, market and sell the banks services accordingly.
Essential Duties and Job Responsibilities:
- Develops internal and external business development plans to ensure that branch deposit & loan, goals are met or exceeded. This includes both on premise (40%) and off premise(60%) sales meetings with existing and potential customers. The Branch Manager is expected to engage with customers and potential customers to increase branch business.
- Utilize Salesforce system to track all business development activities and pre-call plans. All activities must be notated in the SFS system for documentation purposes and goal accomplishment.
- Identify and qualify clients best suited for the Bank’s Cash Management products and services. When clients are identified, lead the sales effort and provide demonstrations and complete RFPs and pro-forma account analysis in order to enhance the number of products and services used by commercial clients.
- Work directly with the Cash Management Officer to ensure all clients’ needs are being met.
- Performs credit analysis on potential commercial loan request and ensures a quality loan package be sent to the commercial loan department. Comprehensive understanding of financial statements. Ability to communicate with commercial and consumer loan prospects and business partners to ensure a quality loan package request.
- Establish a process with RMs, BMs and Private Bankers to identify and qualify new prospects for non-bank clients for cash management services, utilizing RM. BM and Private Bankers’ “Opportunity” Reports from Sales Force.
- Lead branch staff to ensure maximum cross selling opportunities, which allows the branch to run independently at optimum efficiency. Create and maintain a sales and service culture within the branch to meet branch goals and exceed customer expectations.
- Cultivates and demonstrates OBTC sales culture in the branch.
- Mentor, Coach & Develop branch talent through quarterly performance evaluations
- Manages all aspects of the branch’s operations, including but not limited to its employees and customer relations.
- Performs hiring, firing, scheduling, disciplining, evaluating, training and directing the work of all branch employees.
- Identify Cash Management training needs of RMs, BMs and Private Bankers and in conjunction with Product Management, develop and deliver training
- Plans for the efficient and profitable operation of the branch through budget and cost control, maintaining appropriate staffing levels and controlling expenses.
- Administers company policies to ensure compliance with all applicable internal and external rules and regulations.
- Reports to the Branch Administrator/Branch Operations Manager related to efficient operation of the branch.
- Performs as the Mortgage Loan originator making sure submittal of complete mortgage package.
- This position approves routine expenses and assists the branch administrator with larger expenses. Approved signing authority up to $25,000.00
- Must be willing to float to all branches, as required. Must be willing to fill in at our branches to cover for vacations, leaves, etc.
- Must be willing to fill in on Saturday’s as needed.

Required:
Preferred: Four year College Degree- Banking, Business Administration or Accounting
Experience:
Required: Five Years Supervisory Experience as Branch Manager
Preferred: Three to Five Years Branch Management experience with a Commercial Bank.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:
Required: Must be a self-starter with the ability to take initiative and utilize judgment to ensure the efficient and profitable operation of a branch. Possess Leadership, managerial, selling, and business development skills
Preferred: Demonstrated ability to lead a successful team. Develop and maintain an active calling plan to develop new business. Effective communication skills.
A high level of confidentiality is required. Position has access to customer’s accounts, credit reports and financial information. Position also has access to certain information that must be kept confidential. This position interacts with a large number of internal and external contacts in the process of branch operations and business development.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Working Conditions: The work locations for this position are split between the branch and various outside sites when engaging in external business development.
- Equipment Operations: A general knowledge of personal computer applications including windows and word perfect. Keyboard and typing skills required.
