What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Operations position at Orange Blossom Classic?
SUMMARY: This administrative position provides expert leadership in game and event venue operations (stadium) with a focus on logistics for the Orange Blossom Classic football game and ancillary events (collectively EVENTS) for which the Orange Blossom Classic Committee produces. Additionally, it will support the Events Department with duties as it relates to the OBC, Community and Game Events.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Serve as the primary game and event operations contact for EVENTS
- Facilitate communication between Orange Blossom Classic Events and Operations Department, participating teams, bands and the EVENTS venue
- Serve as the liaison between the Orange Blossom Classic Committee, the teams, conference(s) office, game officials, stat crew, and all game day personnel
- Oversee the EVENTS and OPERATIONS manager in the creation of event plans for all EVENTS (team operations, game day operations, and ancillary events)
- Oversight of operations assistant(s), ancillary events manager, and external partners for the proper planning and execution of EVENTS logistical needs
- Work closely with the sponsorship fulfillment team and sponsors to fulfill onsite logistical needs of sponsors at EVENTS
- Serve as main contact for EVENTS Fan Fest
- Leadership of game day ops and in-stadium logistics for EVENTS
· Hire and manage operations assistant and multiple interns
· Maintain vendor relations
ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS:
Event-by-event planning
- Develop pre-event tasks for all EVENTS
- Develop and begin distribution of planning guides
- Meet with game week EVENTS site contacts
- Facilitate ongoing meetings with participating teams and bands
- Work with Hard Rock stadium on game day plans and needs
- Communicate needs and oversee EVENTS vendors
- Work with credentialing vendor in outlining the credential system and ensure all stakeholders are properly credentialed
- Management of editing manuals and participant guides
- Conduct and schedule site visits pre and post team selections
- Develop EVENTS Fan Fest layout and distribute to necessary contacts and vendors
- Work with stadium and police agencies to develop strategy for game day traffic and team movement
- Assist in development of script for game days as requested
- Coordinate trophy presentations.
- Work with sponsor fulfillment teams and vendors to finalize setup plans for events for prior to the games
- Assist with team announcement and site-visits
· Hire and manage operations manager and multiple event interns.

· Administer plans for EVENTS setup, game day and breakdown
- Assist with creation of scripts for stages at Fan Fest as requested
- Work with both teams to facilitate team walk-throughs
- Serve as on-site contact for all setup needs for EVENTS including: sponsors, vendors, ESPN TV Production, etc.
- Manage Fan Fest timelines to ensure setup and proper permitting of Fan Fest
- Assist stadium staff with game day ops including in-stadium promotions and overall flow of game script
- Assist with the management of trophy ceremonies
- Manage EVENTS breakdown of assigned gameday events
GENERAL:
· Assist ED with the research, presentation and management of annual plans, budgets and purchasing
· Assist in all EVENTS projects and requests as requested
· Work with the Executive Director and Events Manager in the administration of agreements and budget for each assigned event
· Oversee the Events Manager in the development, presentation and management of event staffing plans
· Lead the development, presentation and management of EVENTS operational task lists
· Facilitate event meetings (both internally and externally) including but not limited to:
Þ Scheduling
Þ Agendas
Þ Minutes
· Other tasks as assigned by Executive Director
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Bachelor’s degree
· 3 years of experience in game day and team operations; preferably in collegiate football
· Highly organized and attention to detail. Excellent communications and interpersonal skills. Proofreading skills required.
· Demonstrated record of game operations, team operations and event achievement.
· Proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint, cloud-based programs. Photoshop, Publisher, and project management software is a plus.
· Must be available to work all EVENTS year-round and game week (weekdays and some weekends) for ALL Orange Blossom Classic events.
· Ability to work in fast-paced environments, exceling under demanding circumstances and meeting deadlines leading up to and during event weeks
· Other tasks as assigned by Orange Blossom Classic Committee
Note:
· Must be willing to work 40 hours a week with overtime as necessary
· Must possess a valid driver’s license
