What are the responsibilities and job description for the Team and Game Operations Intern position at Orange Blossom Classic?
This is an exciting opportunity for an individual interested in a career in sports. As the Team and Game Operations, you will observe, learn and develop skills necessary to explore career opportunities within the chosen field. Individual may qualify for college credit if allowed by their college/university. This position is an unpaid internship.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTION
ESSENTIAL FUNCTION
- Learn the inner workings of how a major non-profit sports and event organization works and how it relates to the community.
- Interact with the Orange Blossom Classic Committee in preparation for hosting the Orange Blossom Classic teams.
- Learn the basic fundamentals of events and team operations up until and during Orange Blossom Classic week.
- Exposed to the development, presentation and management of event staffing plans and event operational task lists.
- Be trained in the planning of event meetings (both internally and externally), including scheduling, creating meeting agendas and taking minutes during meetings.
- Learn about team gift selections and participate in research and inventory processes associated with team gifts.
- Being exposed to team arrivals, parties and dinner to include event day logistics, décor’, entertainment, gifts, set-up and breakdown of the event and transportation for outings.
- Enhance skills by participating with group specific outings such as the Welcome Receptions, Team Outing, Team Lunches and Dinners including the administrative elements of scheduling dates, researching venues, and gift distribution for each group.
- Learn elements of hotel events thru participation in the Team Arrival Welcome and the Players Hospitality Room.
- Exposure to team transportation, limo transportation, and other logistics such as courtesy car assignments and distributions.
- Learn about ensuring quality of event and timeline adherence.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Current or upcoming college senior or recent graduate.
- Strong communication skills and telephone etiquette.
- Knowledge and strong interest in sports and event planning.
- Excellent communication, computer and organizational skills.
- Knowledge in Word, Excel, and Power Point.
- High energy; ability to remain focused on goals and work independently
- Flexibility and willingness to work evenings and weekends.
