POSITION: Marketing & Communications Intern
DEPARTMENT: Communications/Marketing
REPORTS TO: Communications & Marketing Activation Coordinator
STATUS: Internship, Unpaid
SUMMARY: This is an exciting opportunity for an individual interested in a career in Communications/Marketing. Intern will observe, learn and develop skills necessary to explore career opportunities within the chosen field. Individual may qualify for college credit if allowed by their college/university. This position is an unpaid internship.
LEARNING EXPERIENCE
Intern will learn and be exposed to:
· Inner workings of a major non-profit sports and event organization
· Detailed and hands on operations of a Communications and Marketing Department.
· Development of plans for advertising, marketing communications, grass roots promotions, event management, filing and distributing of news clippings, and more.
· Learn about distribution of press releases internally and externally.
· Understand tasks associated with OBC archival history (old game programs, game films & videos for all events, event photography).
· Exposure of marketing strategies to increase overall brand awareness of the Orange Bowl Committee and its events.
· Enhance skills of reviewing content and proofreading of publications and website.
· Logistics associated with researching, ordering and managing inventory of promotional giveaway items.
· Other opportunities as may be available.
PREREQUISITES
· Pursuing a degree and/or career in Marketing, Communications, Sport Management or other related fields
· Proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Photoshop and/or Illustrator
· Ability to lift a minimum of 20 pounds
Note:Preferred commitment of a minimum of 20 hours a week consistent with academic demands/schedule.
