Role Title: Medical Assistant/Medical Receptionist (Non-Certified)

Role Summary
We are currently seeking highly motivated and compassionate individuals to join us as a part of our Medical Assistants (MA) team. This position offers a unique opportunity to gain learning experience and engage in a variety of responsibilities, both administrative and clinical, that contribute to our success in the care and well-being of our patients. As an MA, you will be responsible for providing customer-facing support, coordinating patient care, scheduling appointments, and assisting the physician with clinical tasks. We provide paid, on-the-job training, and do not require prior healthcare experience or certification as a MA.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients and visitors in a courteous and welcoming manner.
- Handle checking patients in and out, completing paperwork and providing support as needed.
- Answer all phone calls, handle inquiries and relay messages accordingly.
- Schedule appointments, procedures, and follow-up visits.
- Verify insurance coverage, request prior authorizations, and collect payments.
- Organize and maintain accurate and up-to-date patient medical records in accordance with established protocols and regulations.
- Maintain and clean patient rooms for routine appointments.
- Record pertinent health information, collect vital signs and conduct EKGs.
- Assist with cardiac device interrogations.
- Prepare operating room and patients for procedures, assisting physician and surgical team as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree is required.
- Able to commit at least 1 year (ideally, 2 years or more) to this position.
- Has exceptional customer service, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize tasks and responsibilities, and meet deadlines.
- Basic computer knowledge with proficient typing speed and accuracy.
- Values patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
- Bilingual in a second language, such as Spanish or Vietnamese, is a plus!
