The Orange County Department of Education is currently accepting applications for the position of Substitute Culinary Services Worker. This position is responsible for providing food services for OCDE schools and staff. Incumbents will perform routine food service, preparation and cleaning duties.
Culinary Services Workers support OCDE’s cafeteria/kitchen center, including setting up serving areas, performing routine food preparation, or serving food, preparing meals for delivery to schools, cashiering, washing dishes, and cleaning and sanitizing the center. The selected candidate will support OCDE’s catering operation, including the organizing of requests/orders from the online portal, the preparation, and the timely and accurate delivery/pickup of orders.
This position is on-call, as needed, Monday through Friday, and based out of Costa Mesa.

Requirements / Qualifications
- Graduation from high school or high school equivalency test.
- At least two years of experience preparing and serving food in a food service operation.
- A current county-approved Food Handler’s Certificate.
