What are the responsibilities and job description for the Administrative Fire Captain - Division VII position at Orange County Fire Authority?
The Division VII Administrative Fire Captain recruitment is an Orange County Fire Authority (OCFA) internal recruitment. Only applications from current, non-probationary OCFA Fire Captains will be considered.
Your application MUST include all current, relevant OCFA work experience to be considered for this position. Failure to include your OCFA work experience along with any other related qualifying experience in the work history section of your application will result in disqualification from the selection process.
WORK SCHEDULE:
The Division Administrative Captain positions are eligible for either a 9/80 or 4/10 work schedule, at the discretion of the Division Chief.
ADDITIONAL PAY:
Per the OCPFAIAFF-Local3631SideLetterAgreement-EligibilityforSAP-SIP, Division Administrative Fire Captains are eligible for 7.5% Staff Assignment Pay (SAP) and/or 10% Staff Incentive Pay (SIP). Please refer to the IAFF - Local 3631 MOU, page 105 for additional information.
VEHICLE USE:
The Division Administrative Captain has the use of an authority vehicle and work directly with the respective Division Chief.
General duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
- Under the direction of the Division Chief, serve as a liaison with city, county, and state officials as directed.
- Represent the OCFA at various meetings and public events.
- Assist in planning, directing, and coordinating a variety of programs and activities.
- Research, analyze, and interpret technical data.
- Prepare written staff reports and oral presentations covering a variety of policy and procedural issues.
- Staff the Department Operations Center (DOC) during major incidents.
- Other miscellaneous administrative duties as necessary or required.
Division Administrative Fire Captains have the opportunity to participate in the following programs:
- Department Safety Officer and participate in the on-call program
