What are the responsibilities and job description for the Part-Time Technical Rescue Truck Technician position at Orange County Fire Authority?
The Part-Time Technical Rescue Truck Technician recruitment is an Orange County Fire Authority (OCFA) internal recruitment. Only applications from current, qualified OCFA safety personnel will be accepted.
The OCFA Technical Rescue Truck (TRT) Program is currently recruiting non-probationary Firefighters for the position of part-time Technical Rescue Truck Technician. The TRT program is looking to expand the list of fully qualified part-time Technical Rescue Truck Technicians to support TRT staffing needs. The position requires participation in rigorous physical and mentally challenging field operations, encompassing multiple disciplines of technical rescue.
Part-time Technical Rescue Truck Technicians will be selected through an application review and interview process. Successful candidates will be placed on eligibility list that will be valid for one year. Candidate's individual qualifications will determine the need for additional training. If selected, a candidate will be provided the additional TRT training courses by the OCFA if necessary. Once the TRT qualification is met, the candidate will be eligible for backfill opportunities on the technical rescue trucks as well as a potential of an administrative assignment based on department needs.
This part-time Technical Rescue Truck Technician recruitment is open to current OCFA non-probationary Firefighters only.
Highly Desirable California State Fire Marshal (CSFM) Qualifications (Not Required):
- Low Angle Rope Rescue Operational (LARRO)
- Rescue Systems 1
- Rescue Systems 2
- Rescue Systems 3
- Rope Rescue Technician
- Confined Space Rescue Technician
- Trench Rescue Technician
- Swift Water Rescue Technician (SRT-1), or River and Flood Rescue Technician
- River and Flood Rescue Boat Technician
