Job Description
General Functions
Responsible for the pick up, delivery, and service of wildlife and domestic animal traps, for the care of impounded animals, and the cleaning of traps, vehicles and related equipment used in the field. Provides extensive customer support to citizens in the field as required.
Representative Duties/Assignments
Requires a high school diploma or equivalent and one year experience working with the public.
Must possess and maintain a valid Florida Driver's license.
Ability to read, write and follow oral and written instructions.
Requires the ability to handle or restrain large and sometimes dangerous animals using animal control equipment.
Requires the ability to use a computer and related animal services software.
Flexibility to work various schedules including weekends and holidays.
Preferences
Prefer knowledge of procedures for the care and humane treatment of animals.

Job Description
General Functions
Responsible for the pick up, delivery, and service of wildlife and domestic animal traps, for the care of impounded animals, and the cleaning of traps, vehicles and related equipment used in the field. Provides extensive customer support to citizens in the field as required.
Representative Duties/Assignments
- Responds to service requests regarding traps and trapped animals. Impounds trapped animals and resets traps. Picks up traps when service is completed.
- Collects and handles trap return fees from citizens. Provides information to citizens regarding trap policies, procedures, and other animal related issues.
- Handles domestic and wildlife/high risk rabies carriers. Completes impound process at shelter, of animals trapped in the field. Assesses animal's condition, and refers animals with health issues to shelter veterinarian for review and treatment.
- Completes and processes paperwork and documentation in Chameleon software as required. Prepares accurate detailed reports as required.
