What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant District Attorney position at Orange County Government?
The Orange County District Attorney’s Office is seeking entry-level attorneys and attorneys with up to eight years of prosecution experience to serve as Assistant District Attorneys. Duties and responsibilities will include, depending on the applicant’s experience, prosecuting felony or misdemeanor cases, from preliminary proceedings, discovery practice, motion practice, grand jury presentations, pretrial hearings, through trial and sentencing. Applicants must be admitted to the New York State Bar, or have passed the bar examination and be awaiting admission to the bar, or have recently graduated from an accredited law school.
Salary will range from approximately $65,000 for entry-level candidates, up to approximately $90,000 for experienced attorneys.
