General Description
DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE CLASS
The work involves the responsibility for coordinating the services of grant program(s) and applying for grants for the Housing Department. An employee in this class has responsibility for planning, coordinating, monitoring the implementation of a variety of grants to ensure compliance with programmatic and fiscal requirements and researches and identifies grant sources to provide technical assistance in the writing and review of grant proposals.
Work is performed under the general direction of the Business Officer II with leeway to exercise independent judgment within the framework of applicable rules, regulations, policies, and procedures in the performance of duties, both in terms of planning and accomplishing work, and in making decisions regarding customer needs and requests and conducting project assignments. Supervision over others is not required of this position. Position does related work as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Graduation from an accredited college or university with an associate degree AND three (3)years of work experience in grant administration involving the development of grant applications and the monitoring and evaluation of grant programs and budgets; OR
An equivalent combination of training and experience as defined above. A higher degree does not substitute for work experience.
Experience with HUD guidelines and draw downs in eLOCCS is preferred.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENT
Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid driver's license issued by the State of North Carolina for the type of vehicle or equipment operated.
