NETWORK ENGINEER

SUMMARY: This position is responsible for installing and maintaining Orange County Property Appraiser Hybrid Network Infrastructure and assisting in the identification and resolution of problems that may arise during normal operations. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The essential duties of the Network Engineer include, but are not limited to the following: Install, configure, and update various software and hardware devices including Switches, Routers, Firewalls, Servers, Desktops, and mobile devices. Maintain on-premises and Azure Active Directory domains. Responsible for administering and managing Microsoft 365 Services. (SharePoint, Teams, Exchange Online, OneDrive, Intune, Licenses, Security applications, Azure AD, etc.) Manage and troubleshoot internal and external DNS Systems. Manage and support existing Storage devices. (Dell NAS, Cisco Hyperflex and Azure Cloud Storage) Monitor performance and ensure systems availability and reliability. Recommend network designs and changes to improve system availability and performance. Identify and resolve complex problems and conduct a root cause analysis to increase systems stability. Secure information systems enforcing organization security and privacy policies and procedures. Maintain hardware and software inventory. Research and evaluate new products and services. Participate in disaster recovery and business continuity initiatives. Prepare and maintain system documentation, standard policies, and procedures. Performs other duties as assigned. Conduct damage assessment in coordination with federal and state emergency management offices during the aftermath of declared disasters, such as hurricanes or tornadoes. Will be required to become an Emergency Responder for emergency damage assessment purposes. Will volunteer to staff the Emergency Operations Center (EOC) or Field Operations Center (FOC) during emergency situations. Contingencies such as these may require after-hours or weekend duties. SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS: Years of experience: Must have four (4) years of experience in support of a similar environment. Experience with end user support and working knowledge of Windows servers and Cloud environments. Education:Bachelor’s degree in computer science from an accredited college or university or experience that may be deemed the equivalent of such professional education. Substitution: (Each year of required education may be substituted by two (2) years of work experience. Each year of required work experience may be substituted by two (2) years of additional education). Certificates, licenses, and registrations: Professional certifications such as CCNA, CCSA, MCSE, MCSA preferred. Computer skills required: Database Software (Access); Internet Software; Spreadsheet Software (Excel); Contract Management Systems; Human Resource Systems; Project Management Software; Word Processing Software (Word); Electronic Mail Software (Outlook); Presentation software (PowerPoint). Must be proficient in Adobe Acrobat. Ability to create and edit PDF documents, prepare fillable forms, and share and review forms. Additional Skills required: Working Experience with enterprise level applications and cloud-based services; Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 preferred. Experience with switching and routing protocols TCP/IP, VLAN's, DNS and LAN/WAN protocols. Strong knowledge in Network, Firewall, Database and System Administration. Experience with some or all of the following hardware and software is preferred: VMware, DELL/EMC NAS, Cisco Hyperflex, SQL Server Clusters, Windows and Linux Servers, Cohesity Backup solutions, Mimecast Spam and Archiving Solution, CISCO Switches and Routers, and Checkpoint Firewalls. Language: Bi-lingual in English and Spanish preferred; but not required.
