What are the responsibilities and job description for the Front Desk Services Representative (GRAVEYARD SHIFT) position at Orange County Rescue Mission?
The Orange County Rescue Mission is a faith based organization to assist the homeless of Orange County, California. The Rescue Mission is looking for Part-Time Graveyard support (up to 28 hours per week) at our Front Desk at our Orange County location. We are looking to fill several weekend and evening shifts working between 4 to 8 hours per shift. Please specify your shift availability when applying.
This position is the first face of the Village of Hope and will greet and assist all volunteers, visitors, and staff upon arrival. This position will also be responsible for answering and transferring all calls to the appropriate staff or program student. The Front Desk must be able to multitask job duties in a very fast paced front desk while remaining calm, positive and professional at all times. The Village of Hope front desk is open 24 hours a day for 365 days a year, and Graveyard/Overnight staff are also responsible for security patrols and monitoring security cameras.
We are looking for candidates available to work Part-Time 4-8 hour overnight shifts Monday through Sunday between 9pm and 6am. Please specify which days/times you are able or prefer to work.

Job Duties:
- Greet all students, visitors, volunteers, donors, vendors, and potential intakes and provide helpful information
- Answer incoming calls from various sources. Transfer calls to the appropriate individual or departmental voicemails.
- Secure doors and monitor access to the Village of Hope campus for authorized personnel by maintaining accurate entrance and exit procedures.
- Maintain strict control of all keys and access badges, logging them out appropriately and complying with access privileges.
- Follow emergency procedures, including those involving medical requests, 911 calls, emergency exits, and alarms.
- Visually monitor security cameras; report any suspicious activity to emergency personnel, security department, or the on-duty case manager or other appropriate staff member.
- Support case management with the communication of student activities and concerns, notifying the appropriate staff members to resolve any conflicts, if needed.
- Maintain daily activity and incident logs.
- Conduct nightly patrols on and around the Village of Hope campus and parking lot, locking down the campus, inspecting for security issues, and reporting any suspicious activity.
Minimum Requirements:
- A personal relationship with Jesus, good working knowledge of the Bible, signed acknowledgment of the Statement of Faith.
- HS Diploma or Certification to prove education equivalency.
- 6 months of front desk reception, customer service, or security experience. Experience working in social services, ministry or counseling is preferable but not required.
- The ability to act professionally and think promptly in an emergency or crisis situation.
- The ability to work with adults and children in crisis situations and recognize and maintain confidentiality of information.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Programs (Outlook, Microsoft, etc.)
