Job Title: Quality Assurance Technician

Department: Quality Assurance

Reports To: Quality Assurance Manager

Location: San Antonio Texas

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Job Summary

The Quality Assurance Technician ensures that products meet quality standards and regulatory requirements through testing, inspections, and monitoring of production processes. This role is critical to maintaining the company's commitment to delivering high-quality products and upholding customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Inspection and Testing:
  • Perform inspections of raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods using appropriate methods and equipment.
  • Conduct tests to ensure compliance with specifications and document results accurately.
  1. Process Monitoring:
  • Monitor production processes to ensure adherence to quality standards and procedures.
  • Identify and report deviations from standards to prevent defective products.
  1. Documentation and Reporting:
  • Maintain accurate records of quality inspections and test results.
  • Prepare and submit detailed reports on quality issues and trends.
  1. Non-Conformance Handling:
  • Investigate and document non-conformance issues.
  • Assist in implementing corrective and preventive actions to resolve quality problems.
  1. Compliance and Standards:
  • Ensure all products meet company, customer, and regulatory quality standards.
  • Support audits by providing necessary documentation and information.
  1. Equipment Maintenance:
  • Calibrate and maintain quality testing equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability.
  1. Continuous Improvement:
  • Collaborate with production and engineering teams to identify areas for improvement in processes and products.
  • Participate in quality improvement projects and initiatives.
  1. Training and Support:
  • Assist in training production staff on quality standards and procedures.
  • Provide guidance to resolve quality-related questions or concerns.
Qualifications
  • Education:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree in quality management, engineering, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience:
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in quality assurance or a related role, preferably in a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Skills:
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in using measurement tools (CMM, calipers, micrometers).
  • Basic knowledge of quality standards such as ISO 9001 or AS9100 is a plus.
  • Familiarity with statistical process control (SPC) and quality tools like Pareto analysis, root cause analysis, etc.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.
  • Technical Requirements:
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Experience with ERP systems or quality management software is advantageous.
  • Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 30 lbs.
  • Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise and other conditions.
