What are the responsibilities and job description for the Custodian - Full-Time - Second Shift position at Orange East Supervisory Union?
Blue Mountain Union School, located in Wells River, Vermont is seeking to hire a full-time custodian. This position will work during the second shift (during the school year) or during the days shift (during the summer, school breaks and school holidays). The Custodian is responsible for ensuring the building is kept in good order in a way that will provide a safe learning environment for students. Performance Responsibilities: -Cleans floors: vacuums, sweeps, dust mops, washes, strips, waxes, and buffs.
- Washes and cleans windows, walls, trash cans, water fountains, and sinks. -Dusts furniture, fixtures, woodwork. -Installs bulletin boards. -Provides set up and break down of cafeteria, gymnasium, other spaces for special events.
- Empties trash receptacles and picks up litter in and around buildings. -Unloads materials from delivery trucks. -Cleans and stocks bathrooms and changes and cleans shower curtains, when appropriate. -Repairs/replaces ceiling tiles.
- Cleans and repairs window coverings. -Replaces light bulbs and changes clocks. -Moves furniture. -Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials and facilities, reporting known safety hazards in the school to the supervisor.
