What are the responsibilities and job description for the Math Interventionist (K-12) (One-Year) position at Orange East Supervisory Union?
This position is subject to grant funding and is for one-year only through June 30, 2025. (2024-2025 school year).Job Purpose:To develop, implement, and assess intervention instruction for students through the use of best practices in math instruction, including conducting weekly progress monitoring and data analysis of students' progress. Ongoing collaboration with classroom teachers and para educators is inherent to this position in an effort to build instructional capacity in the area of math among staff.Essential Job Functions
- Demonstrates and maintains a learner mindset and disposition for working with students needing additional academic support in order to be successful in the classroom.
- Designs and implements intervention instruction for individual students or small groups of students aligned to school intervention model. Uses data to inform instruction and engages in collaborative decision-making.
- Collaborates with team members and district leadership to enhance intervention instruction, build capacity among colleagues, and achieve school goals.
- Applies knowledge of current standards and research and topics in the areas of reading and math instruction.
- Demonstrates and maintains productive and positive interpersonal skills.
- Meets the needs of diverse learners.
- Uses a variety of formal and informal assessment tools, including application and analysis of assessments such as F&P Benchmark Assessment System, POA, PNOA, and other formative and summative assessments.
- Creates a safe, supportive, and effective learning environment for students.
- Attends all interventionist team trainings and collaboration sessions.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
