Description

1. Supervisory Structure:

Reports to the ICF Director, supervises QIDP Coordinators. Works as an integral member of the ICF management team. Provides leadership and mentorship to all group home staff. Fills in for house staff positions as needed. Works with Co-Assistant Directors to maintain on-call system.

 

2. Job Requirements:

Attendance and completion of all ongoing & required orientation and training. “F” endorsement on driver’s license required. Fluent computers skills required, including proficiency in Word, Excel, and experience using a variety of software programs. Constant professional demeanor and dedication to improving the lives and active treatment needs of people receiving ICF services required. Demonstration of professional and effective communication: verbally, written, and electronic. Accuracy and timeliness of paperwork required. Helpful demeanor and interactions required.

 

 

 

3. Job Summary:

This is a full-time, salary position that will lead teams of QIDPs and group home staff, while assisting the ICF Director in the performance of duties needed as a member of the ICF Management Team. Responsible for establishing quality services in each home and consistently implementing ICF program standards of care and active treatment. Responsible for training compliance of all staff.

4. Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

The Assistant Director insists on compliance with ICF requirements and Orange Grove policy and procedures. This includes providing ongoing support to their supervising ICF Director and to their direct report QIDPs. Specific duties include but are not limited to.

· Flexibility to meet the needs of the program, with a willingness to learn and with ongoing initiative to meet the demands and needs of the department.

· Work with the Assistant Director of Compliance/ Quality Supports to complete investigation Plan of Corrections.

· Be present with State monitors during surveys and be responsive to their requests. Train staff to survey standards and implement any needed improvements throughout the homes. Attend survey exit conferences. Work with the ICF Director to complete and implement survey Plan of Corrections and conduct any needed follow-ups in a timely manner.

· Work with Orange Grove’s administration team to include the ICF Director, Chief Residential Officer, HR Director, and Compliance and Training Director to ensure the success of staff, programing, and quality support. This includes oversite to rights restrictions, active treatment, standards of care, CQL accreditation standards, DIDD regulations, and the desires of clients and their families/legal representatives.

· In collaboration with Orange Grove’s administration team, perform personnel functions to support the needs of the homes. This includes submitting requisitions and job descriptions for hiring needs, scheduling, and approving time, approving leave of absence requests, completing personnel action forms, completing evaluations, hiring/firing of applicable staff positions, implementing PRN/sub requirements, attending job fairs, and counseling, mentoring, and training of applicable personnel.

· Work with QA Specialist to receive and ensure corrective action on daily note reports. Ensure residential attendance is accurate and timely.

· Conduct monthly audits of individual monthly reviews.

· Ensure adequate home ratios and provide additional oversight of home schedules to ensure staffing numbers are appropriate. Ensure home schedules are posted and available timely on the common file.

· Participate in weekly ICF Management meeting, in weekly HR meeting, in weekly staffing and personnel meeting with QIDPs, and in weekly visits to each home.

· Participate in other meetings as scheduled or requested to include PRERT, HRC, Leaders & Coaches, Family Meetings, and management or administration meetings.

· Communicate and collaborate with the ICF Management team to brainstorm continual improvements in client programming, staff recruitment, training, and retention, and in compliance and quality.

· Complete work independently and timely but also communicate openly with the ICF Director progress, concerns, and suggestions.

· Participate in a rotating 24 hour on-call system to ensure personnel oversight on evenings, nights, holidays, and weekends.

· Other duties as assigned.

5. Professional Development:

Professional staff have an on-going responsibility to participate in development and training, in both formal and informal settings, with other professional, paraprofessional, and nonprofessional staff members.

 

Professional staff provide training and mentoring to others. This includes actively supporting their team and leadership in a professional manner. It also includes demonstrating compliance with policies and procedures, demonstrating a positive helpful attitude, and ensuring quality support is always priority. For example, as the professional staff ensures the confidentiality and protection of client records and the protection of all rights of each person supported, their team members hear what they say and watch how they do it. Professionals lead by both saying what is expected and doing what is expected.

Qualifications


Position Requirements

1. Education:

Bachelor’s degree in a Human Service field (including but not limited to: Sociology, Special Education, Rehabilitation Counseling, and Psychology) or Professional Category (Physical Development and Health, Nutritional Status, Sensorimotor Development, Affective Development, Speech and Language Development, Auditory Functioning, Cognitive Development, Social Development, Adaptive Behaviors, and Independent Living Skills).

 

2. Experience:

At least 1 year of experience working with individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities required. Familiarity with behavioral management needs preferred. Three years of supervisory experience preferred. Previous work in a group home setting desired. Experience working within government regulations and interfacing with monitors and surveyors desired. Experience with prioritizing multiple tasks to completion and producing professional quality results necessary.

 

3. Physical Requirements:

Good overall physical health and personal stamina. Physical examination, including TB skin test or chest x-ray required prior to employment. Ability to perform essential duties of driving, clerical tasks, and group home tasks.

Salary : $56,000 - $60,000
