JOB SUMMARY: This is a full time position responsible for many duties of the Employment and Community First (ECF) Department. This person will work children with severe behaviors and their family by training, assisting and supporting the family unit while in their home. This is a position with growing responsibilities as regulations, case loads, and expectations evolve and as Orange Grove Center expands service delivery options for people. He or she will be required to work in many different areas and fulfill many different types of job tasks as the job and department grow. This person will report quality documentation of services and activities relating to services. This person will communicate openly and effectively with individuals, family members, staff, management, staff from all Orange Grove departments, community partners, and all stakeholders. This position will include working hours during various shifts and days of the week. Foremost this position must demonstrate a positive attitude in all situations and must up hold the mission, policies and procedures of Orange Grove. This position may include working hours outside of the typical Monday through Friday, 8:00am. - 4:00 pm. Foremost, this position must demonstrate positive leadership abilities in all situations, be able to work independently, must demonstrate a willingness to do what is required for the success of the program, and must up hold the policies and procedures of Orange Grove Center.
EXPERIENCE: Experience working with persons with ID/DD preferred. A willingness to work with individuals with severe behaviors. Must possess an understanding of the importance of person centered employment and community activities that promote independence. Excellent people skills and problem solving techniques required. Must be capable of working within the guidelines of the Bureau of Tenn-Care, the Area on Aging and Disabilities, Managed Care Organizations, and all other applicable governing and/or funding sources. Must possess a valid driver's license with an F endorsement, a dependable vehicle, and maintain liability automobile insurance. Must maintain a flexible schedule. Must be able to multi task and prioritize. Must ensure communication is friendly and displays a professional and helpful demeanor. Must demonstrate compliance with all Orange Grove, State, and Managed Care Organizations training requirements. Must be able to accomplish agency and departmental goals. Must assist with peer training, mentoring, and work as a cooperative team environment.
SUPERVISORY: Reports to the Assistant Coordinator of the ECF Department.
Qualifications
EDUCATION: High School Diploma or GED and Registered Behavior Technician Training (RBT) provided once hired
OR 5 years experience working with individuals with Intellectual Disabilities and Mental Health Diagnosis.
OR an Associate Degree in a related field and 3 years experience working with Individuals with Intellectual Disabilities and Mental Health Diagnosis.
OR a Bachelor Degree in a related field and 1 year experience working with Intellectual Disabilities and Mental Health Diagnosis.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Good overall physical health and personal stamina. Physical examination, including TB skin test or chest x-ray is required prior to employment. Must be able to lift and position people to meet their physical therapy needs.
