Shift Leader ICF 322 2nd shift
Schedule: Week 1: Sun 8a-8p, Tu, W, Th, F 3p-11p Week 2: M, Tu, W, TH 3p-11p Sat 8a-8p
Provides direct supports to individuals with disabilities and role models such supports to DSPs by assisting with living skills, communicating and interacting with individuals served, facilitating community inclusion, maintaining an appropriate physical environment, providing transportation, maintaining finances, implementing the ISP and demonstrating the importance of individuals becoming active citizens in their neighborhoods and local communities and work environments.
Essential Duties:
- Provide the supports required per departmental guidelines.
- Understands and implements current state licensing rules and regulations, agency policies and procedures and protection of individual consumer rights and protection from harm.
- Develops and implements curriculum for each individual to ensure a meaningful day
- Works closely with appropriate disciplines (PT, OT, Speech, Nursing, BA Services, etc.) to ensure continuity of care for individuals served.
- Communicates effectively in writing and orally, completes various office tasks and utilizes the computer effectively. Must have the ability to read and write the English language proficiently.
- Supervises direct support staff. Assists in evaluation of performance, provides input relative to hiring/termination of personnel and implements appropriate progressive discipline as needed.
- Ensures all required training is completed timely.
- Follows the staffing plan and secures staff to fill-in when vacancies occur due to staff illness, resignation, vacation, etc.
- Provides direct support to individuals with disabilities; lifting, turning, positioning, bathing, toileting, grooming, etc.
- Ensures that individuals are safe and living healthy lives by monitoring safety issues, coordinating, monitoring and documenting medical supports, practicing appropriate emergency procedures, responding to emergencies, and promoting individual rights regarding health and safety issues.
- Transports individuals. Ensures pre-trip/post-trip inspections are completed as required.
- Attends all scheduled meetings/appointments.
- Prepares/post menu's and/or prepares meals according to mealtime card and dietary orders.
- Supports individuals in their employment and vocational opportunities.
- Ensures completion of housekeeping duties.
- Administers medication according to company medication administration policy.
- Completes and submits required departmental reports timely.
- Clocks in and out daily and confirms employee punches daily.
- Ensures that required departmental data (daily notes, monthly reviews, etc.) is collected and recorded appropriately.
- Purchases items, manages budget and individual spending money. Submits receipts per departmental guidelines.
- Conducts/Documents/participates in monthly fire drills.
- Maintains confidentiality of individuals served.
- Demonstrates teamwork and promotes positive interactions and attitudes among staff, parents and all stakeholders.
- Shows dependability by being punctual and maintaining consistent attendance.

REQUIREMENTS:
- A standard high school diploma or GED is required.
- An acceptable three-year Motor Vehicle Report is required
- Social Security Card is required
- Driver's license with F endorsement, if a not a Georgia or Alabama license
- Basic computer skills required
- Ability to read and write the English language
- On-going background checks and random drug and alcohol screenings
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Successful completion of the required physical examination by an approved Orange Grove physician.
- The physical demands vary from residence to residence. Some of them require frequent lifting and others require little. Specifics about the position in question will be addressed later in the description. All applicants are required to have a physical and be found to be in good physical health.
