Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and organized Front Desk Assistant to join our Physical Therapy office team. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for patients, ensuring a welcoming and efficient environment. This role requires strong administrative skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced clinic setting while scheduling patients appointments and trouble shooting for the patient. Experience in medical office management, medical billing, ICD-10 and CPT coding is a must. Knowledge of Workers Compensation rules and obtaining authorizations is also a requirement. *90 day probationary period at which time the salary will be re addressed*
Duties
- Greet patients and visitors in a friendly and professional manner.
- Manage incoming calls, schedule appointments, and handle patient inquiries.
- Verify insurance information and assist with insurance verification processes and obtaining required authorizations.
- Maintain accurate patient records and ensure confidentiality of medical information.
- ICD-10, CPT and Workers Compensation knowledge is a must.
- Perform administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and maintaining office supplies.
- Collaborate with medical staff to ensure smooth patient flow and service delivery.
- Posting of patient's charts on a daily basis.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Front Desk Assistant or in a similar role within a healthcare setting is a must.
- Strong knowledge of medical office management practices, including insurance verification processes, acquiring authorizations and medical billing.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a focus on patient service.
- Proficient in typing.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain confidentiality.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in managing files and records.
- Ability to multitask effectively in a busy clinic environment.
- ICD-10, CPT and Workers Compensation knowledge is a must.
