Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and organized Skilled Nursing Facility Activity Assistant to join our dedicated team. In this role, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and implementing engaging activities for residents in a skilled nursing facility. Your focus will be on enhancing the quality of life for our residents through meaningful interactions and activities tailored to their interests and abilities.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a variety of recreational and therapeutic activities that cater to the interests and needs of residents.
- Assist in scheduling and managing daily activity programs, ensuring all residents are informed and encouraged to participate.
- Collaborate with nursing staff to integrate activities that support residents' physical, emotional, and social well-being.
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff to foster a supportive community environment.
- Support residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) as needed during activities.
- Organize special events and outings that promote socialization among residents.
- Maintain accurate records of resident participation and feedback on activities.
- Work closely with individuals with disabilities to ensure inclusive participation in all activities.
Requirements
- Experience in assisted living or senior care settings is preferred.
- Strong schedule management skills to effectively coordinate multiple activities.
- Proven event planning abilities to create engaging programs for residents.
- Excellent communication skills to interact positively with residents, families, and staff.
- Familiarity with home community care practices is a plus.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment while being sensitive to the needs of individuals with disabilities.
