We have an immediate opening for a per diem Licensed Grossing Assistant to join our large collegial hospital-based private practice, Orange Pathology Associates, in Hudson Valley, New York. The position available is at New York-Presbyterian/Hudson Valley Hospital.

Job Description
Under the supervision of the Attending Pathologists, the Licensed Grossing Assistant will be responsible for the gross examination and dissection of surgical pathology specimens. Responsibilities include:
- Performing macroscopic tissue examination and dissection of a variety of surgical specimens
- Providing detailed and accurate gross descriptions
- Assisting with frozen sections and other intraoperative consultations
- Participating in quality control and quality assurance procedures
- Collaborating with pathologists, pathology assistants, and laboratory personnel to ensure accurate and efficient workflow
Qualifications
- NYSDOH Licensed as a Certified Clinical Laboratory Histotechnician, Histotechnologist, Technician, or Technologist
- Associate’s Degree from a relevant course of study as defined by NYS clinical laboratory licensing requirements
- A high school diploma will only be accepted if the individual has the designated experience defined by NYS and has obtained their NYS license through the grandparenting pathway defined by NYS
- 6 months to 1 year of experience in a surgical pathology laboratory
- Exposure to computer systems
- Strong communication skills
Required Licenses
- Certified Histotechnician-NYS or
- Clinical Lab Technician-NYS or
- Clinical Lab Technologist-NYS
